Ethnographic Museum in Ochla
Local name: Muzeum Etnograficzne w Ochli
Ethnographic ethnographic museum in Ochla is about 60 historic buildings that contain original equipment and objects of folk culture in five regions. The exhibition occupies an area of 13 hectares, and the oldest house in it is the house from Needle from 1675 and the 18th century wooden tower from Budachow. In the open-air museum there is an inn and a fish market with fish fry.
The purpose of the exhibition is to present everyday life, typical activities and folk culture of the regions of Western Wielkopolska, Eastern Lusatia, Lower Silesia, Bukovina and the Central-Lubuskie region. The assembled objects are arranged in such a way that they resemble the traditional layout of roads and the location of the most important buildings in the former village. Outside the buildings, you can see about 8,000 different exhibits, including agricultural tools, home appliances, household clothing and fabrics, carpets, ritual items, sculptures and paintings, musical instruments, toys and more.
The open-air museum is part of a regional museum which organizes educational activities and demonstrations of traditional crafts and arts. The collection of exhibits related to the life and culture of displaced persons from the Eastern Borderlands after the Second World War is also interesting.
