Birthplace of Frédéric Chopin
Local name: Dom urodzenia Fryderyka Chopina
Chopin's birthplace is located in Żelazowa Wola near Sochaczew. Here a great composer was born. To commemorate this event and cultivate his work, the house was transformed into a museum.
The permanent exhibition consists of the reconstruction of the house and the biographical exhibition of Chopin. The interior includes: a room with a fireplace, a music room, a dining room, a mother's and children's room. All rooms have collected period-specific items and classicist furniture. On the walls there are portraits of Chopin's family members. In the music lounge stands a modern piano, shared during numerous concerts and recitals.
There is also a pavilion with a cinema room in which a film about Chopin is shown.
The manor house is surrounded by a beautiful park on the Utrata River, which also refers to Fryderyk Chopin. Among the lush vegetation there are plenty of his images.
