The museum is located in the old building of the Town Hall. It is dedicated to World War II especially the Battle of the Bzura in 1939. It consists of the collection of militaria, weapons, and equipment of soldiers who took part in those fights. The facility also has exhibitions on the subject of the history of Sochaczew Land.
Apart from the permanent exhibition "Battlefield", there are also temporary exhibitions related to painting, handicraft, modern sculpture, and ethnic and social groups in Poland and the world. The outdoor exposition can be watched on the courtyard. It contains military equipment, cannons, artillery, a tank, the aircraft Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21, and even a sapper boat.Because of the archeological research carried out here, visitors can take a look at excavations' specimens from prehistoric Sochaczew Land. Books on the subject of the history of Sochaczew, including works from the local publishing house, can be purchased in the museum.Less
