In memory of the heroes who died during the Warsaw Uprising, a special monument was created, unveiled in 1989. It is actually divided into two sculptures. One of them depicts insurgents entering the channel, the other escapes from the crumbling wall. On the back of the second part of the monument there are bas-reliefs in the form of underground posters, as well as a memorial plaque.
The location of the monument of the Warsaw Uprising is not accidental. The monument is located on Krasińskich Square, which is exactly where the manhole to the channel was located, through which some of the insurgents escaped from hostile troops.Less
