The monument of Roman Dmowski - Polish politician, statesman and co-founder of National Democracy - is located near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The choice of monument site is not accidental, because Dmowski was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Second Polish Republic in 1923.
The monument was created on the initiative of members of the Association of the National Roman Dmowski Monument Construction Committee. The ceremonial unveiling took place in 2006. In 2003, the Council of Warsaw decided to finance the monument with municipal funds.
The inscription on the pedestal is a quote from the work of Roman Dmowski "Thoughts of a modern Pole" from 1903. The authors of the sculpture are dr Wojciech Mendzelewski, Maria Marek-Prus and Piotr Prus.
The figure placed on the pedestal has been destroyed many times as a result of acts of vandalism.
