It is the main church of the Evangelical-Augsburg parish church of Sts. Trinity. In 1965 it was entered in the register of monuments. It was the tallest building of 18th century Warsaw. In the 1980s, the cross crowning the church's dome was adopted as the main point of the Warsaw metering network, prepared by William Lindley for the construction of filters and water supply. The church was famous for its excellent acoustics, so it was the Frederick Chopin Concert for Tsar Alexander I, who came to Warsaw for a session of the Sejm.
The church was destroyed during the September 1939 campaign. After the Warsaw Uprising, only fired walls remained. In 1945, its reconstruction began. In 1951 the building was taken over by the state for the concert hall. Five years later, however, the temple was returned to the parish. The Pope visited two popes - John Paul II and Benedict XVI.
The original solid was erected in the 18th century according to the design of Szymon Zug, for whom the Roman Pantheon was inspired.
