The Geological Museum of the Polish Geological Institute is housed in a historic building from the first half of the 20th century, which is also the seat of the Polish Geological Institute. The museum was founded in 1919. It presents a rich collection of paleobotanical, mineralogical, lithological and paleontological exhibits. Thanks to 8 permanent exhibitions, visitors can learn about the geological structure of Poland and the course of karst processes.
Exhibitions present a variety of minerals and rocks, fossils, building stones and sandstones. In the museum there are footprints of dinosaurs found in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, reconstruction of a Polish dinosaur - dilophosaurus, mammoth skeletons, cave bear and woolly rhinoceros, and a model of a cave and a desert.In addition, you can also get acquainted with facts concerning the Polish Geological Institute.
