Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Sts. Józef Oblubieniec belongs to the Higher Metropolitan Seminary in Warsaw. It was built in the second half of the 17th century. The author of the project was the Italian architect Isidoro Affaita older. It was erected in a baroque style on the cross. In its interior, you can still admire sacred art monuments.
In the 18th century, the façade of the temple was rebuilt in classicism. The project inspired by the architectural forms of ancient Greece and Rome was the responsibility of the Polish architect of German origin - Efraim Szreger. The building of the church survived the difficult time of World War II and after its completion was a proconsul.
In the interior of the church, in the side altar of the Virgin Mary Patron of the Good Death is kept an antique icon from Ukraine, the gift of King John Casimir from 1664. You can also admire the group "Married Mary", which is written by Polish sculptor Jan Jerzy Plersch.
