Ethnographic Park near the Ethnographic Museum

Local name: Park Etnograficzny przy Muzeum Etnograficznym

Located in the vicinity of the Ethnographic Museum, the park on Chełmińskie Przedmieście presents, over the area of 1.2 hectares, a collection of completely furnished rural cottages and farmsteads, among which the oldest one dates back to 1767.

The collection also includes a watermill, windmill, forge, firehouse, bread oven and examples of small architecture. Inside you can see traditional furniture, everyday objects, toys and dishes, regional decorations, souvenirs from religious ceremonies and even live specimens of plants. The park also hosts occasional folk events, and one of the huts has a stylish cafe.

Both the buildings and the exhibits gathered in them come from many regions of Poland, creating a picturesque combination of cultures of Kujawy, Kashubia, Chełmno Land, Dobrzyń Land, Kociewie and Bory Tucholskie. The exhibits cover such areas as food preparation, soil cultivation, breeding, beekeeping, weaving, fishing, milling, oil making, cooperage, smithery.

Particularly attractively open-air museum presents itself during holiday periods, when individual buildings and chapels gain a festive decor.
