Central Cemetery in Sanok is the main necropolis of the city. It exists since the end of the 18th century. It consists of several parts coming from different periods. There are dozens of 19th century gravestones in the cemetery. There are people who are deserving of merit for the city and the region, as well as soldiers fighting in subsequent uprisings and wars. Zdzisław and Tomasz Beksinski were buried in the Sanok Cemetery.
The beginnings of the cemetery are connected with the imperial decree of the 18th century, which ordered the removal of cemeteries outside the city. The first buried burials in the Sanok cemetery date back to the middle of the 19th century. In addition to the graves of the ordinary inhabitants of the city are also buried deserved persons, political and social activists, military, people of culture and art. The most famous names are painter and graphic designer Zdzisław Beksiński and his son, radio presenter and translator, Tomasz.
There is a cross on the cemetery dedicated to the January insurgents. There are also warplaces of the First and Second World War. Katyn sacrifices commemorates Golgotha of the East and Oaks of Remembrance.
