The museum is located inside the Diocesan Curia building near the Zamkowa street. It was established in 1997 while the opening ceremony took place in 1998 during the European Heritage Days. The museum collects sacral art antiques that are no longer used for cult purposes.
The museum collection mainly consists of baroque sculptures and paintings, gothic sculptures, liturgical books and monstrances. The most valuable items are medieval home stoup, the 14th century crucifix from Rożnowice, sculpture of Resurrected Christ also from the 14th century, the 17th century painting of Christ at the Column, gothic figure of Mother of God from before 1410 in Beautiful Madonna style (standing Mary with the Child on arm).The museum collects antiques that come from Rzeszów diocese. Numerous display units from these areas are also located in museums in Przemyśl and Tarnów.Less
