The palace in Rogalin belongs to the National Museum in Poznań as one of its branches. In addition to the palace, there is also a beautiful park and a coach house. The palace was built in the nineteenth century, and in 1910 the gallery building was added.
The works of art that can be admired in the gallery were scrupulously collected by Edward Raczyński, which took him forty years. Raczyński was the last rightful owner of the residence and he decided to make his collections available to visitors. Approximately 250 of over 300 paintings have survived to this day. Their authors include Jan Matejko, Stanisław Wyspiański, Jacek Malczewski, Leon Wyczółkowski, Aleksander Gierymski and Olga Boznańska. The coach house is located near the entrance to the courtyard. Inside you can see eighteenth-century litters, children's sledges, as well as antique horse-drawn vehicles, and accessories used for travel at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. An additional attraction is the French garden, located behind the palace and a landscaped park with old oaks trees.Less
