The open-air museum was founded in 1998 on the initiative of the Society for the Protection of Monuments of Railway and Open-Air Museum. It is located near the railway station in Pyskowice, based on the former wagon hall and locomotive. In the rich collection of museums you can see exhibits from various parts of Poland: steam locomotives, auxiliary and diesel locomotives, draisines, freight and passenger wagons, railway crane and electric traction unit.
Thanks to the efforts of railway enthusiasts, the only active locomotive in Silesia - TY42-24 from 1945, which weighs 154 tons and its length reaches 23 m, is renewed. The oldest locomotive collection dates back to 1942. It is one of only 28 steam locomotives from Berlin, built for Hermann Goering's industrial group.
An interesting attraction is also the gantry crane of 1932, the Berlin metro wagons converted into the rescue train (unit W 90) and the wagon of 1929 designed to carry coal dust.
