Przemyśl Gate Bridge

Local name: Most Brama Przemyska

Przemyśl Gate Bridge is the largest bridge in Subcarpathia. It is one of the dominating elements of the city's panorama and great viewpoint at the same time. The impressive suspended construction together with the overpass is 503 m long. It is supported by two pylons of 61,5 m in height. It was the fourth tallest bridge in Poland during its construction. Because of its spectacular illumination, Przemyśl Gate Bridge presents itself best at night. One of the bunkers of the Molotov Line can be found nearby.

The construction of the youngest road bridge in Przemyśl started in 2010. The ceremony of its opening took place two years later. It is part of the east ring road which limited the transit traffic in narrow streets in the center and provided easier access to the border crossing in Medyka. The project was possible thanks to funds from the city's budget and EU subsidies. It was built by Mota-Engil Central Europe.

The bridge's name comes from the natural dip in the land between the Carpathian Mountains and Roztocze through which trading and military routes passed for ages.
