National Museum of the Przemyśl Land

Local name: Muzeum Narodowe Ziemi Przemyskiej

The National Museum of the Land of Przemysl has collections connected with the land of Przemysl, originating mainly from private collections and constituting donations from the inhabitants of the city. There are also many exhibits related to the research of the outstanding biologist Rudolf Weigl. The present museum building in 2009 was one of the Polish candidates for the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award.

An archeology department was established in the building, where exhibits from all historical periods were collected. Here you can admire neolithic stone products or bronze objects. In the ethnography section, items of daily use were taken from the villages of the Polish-Rus- sian border.

Another section - the history section consists of archival documents documenting Przemyśl and Przemyśl land. In addition there are souvenirs, including Prof. Weigl and composer Malawski. In the department of arts and crafts, both ancient and modern art are collected. We will see polish and foreign paintings, icons, graphics, drawings, fabrics or furniture here.
