Museum of Bells and Pipes - clock tower

Local name: Muzeum Dzwonów i Fajek - wieża zegarowa

Museum of Bells and Pipes in Przemysl is the only such facility in Poland. The location of the museum has its historical justification because the city is famous for its pipe production. The headquarters of the museum is, towering over the city, the baroque clock tower. On several floors of the building are presented both historical and modern pipes, as well as bells and their production methods. At the top of the tower is a viewing terrace.

The pipes are on the first and on the last two floors. On the lower storey historical museums are presented, while art and hunting pipes are on the next. Particularly noteworthy are water pipes and the only pipe in the country in the shape of a horse head. Materials used for their manufacture include wood, clay, ceramics, bone, or brass.

The folk exhibition was presented on four floors. Apart from the collection of bells and other folk costumes, here are the ways of their creation. Of particular note are the two bells with the coat of arms of the city. One comes from 1740 and the other from 1864. In addition, there are photographs of the largest objects cast in the workshop of Zbigniew Felczyński.
