Poznań Army Museum

Local name: Muzeum Armii "Poznań"

Poznań Army Museum is located in an overpass of the Small Sluice of Winiary Fortress in Cytadela Park of Poznań. It is dedicated to the involvement of this paramilitary unit in September campaign and the figure of its leader – Tadeusz Kutrzeba. There are archives, pieces of armaments and uniforms of soldiers and also memories of participants of battles of  September 1939.

Poznań Army Museum was created on the initiative of war veterans of Poznań in 1982. At least 10 years ago, on the overpass wall of the Small Sluice, a commemorative plaque dedicated to the members of the Poznań Army was placed.  The exposition is located in a casemate corridor of Winiary Fortress.

The exhibition “Loyal to the oath” is related to the combat trail of the Poznań Army during September 1939. Its main element is Battle of the Bzura. The exhibition shows weaponry used by soldiers, uniforms and personal equipment. There are also pictures, documents, staff maps and personal belongings of soldiers.
