Pharmacy Museum

Local name: Muzeum Farmacji

Most of the exhibits are presented in a dispensation chamber dating back to the turn of 19th and 20th century. Exhibitions show items that were once an indispensable part of equipment of every pharmacy. Large part of exhibits are dating from 19th and 20th century, but the oldest ones are from the end of 17th century.

The exhibition consists of : pharmaceutical dishes made of tin, white and colored glass, wood, porcelain or stoneware. Next to them, majolica cans were placed as a decoration. One can see here also laboratory equipment, stills, presses, tablet presses and collection of mortars. The exposition is enriched by the old pharmaceutical packages, book collections and old prints.

Most of the exhibits of this exposition were donations or deposits from pharmacists from Wielkopolska region, as well as from the Museum of Pharmacy of Jagiellonian Univeristy. A small part of it has been purchased.
