Franciscan Church

Local name: Kościół Franciszkanów

The Franciscan Church, also called the Bernardine Church, is built in Baroque style. At the church there is a monastery, including the Central Library of the Province with numerous old prints.

The temple was built between 1661-1668. This year the Bernardine Order was located there. While in the Franciscan Church, it is worth to pay attention to the niches with figures of Franciscan saints, Louis of Toulouse, St. Francis of Assisi, or
St. Antoni Padewski. For many years in the church is built a huge Christmas crib, which enjoys the reputation of the largest crib in Poland.

In one of the windows there is a stained glass window depicting Saint. Peter of Alkantry. In the interior of the church a cradle vault with lunettes and wall pillars were built.
