For over 100 years, it has been collecting collections related to the broadly understood culture of the population living around Poznań and other European and world countries. The current permanent exhibition is devoted to the folk culture of Greater Poland.
The museum is located in the former building of the Masonic Lodge. The building, which dates back to the early 19th century, is surrounded by a picturesque park. Among the more than 200 years old trees you can see the 17th century well.
The permanent exhibition of the Ethnographic Museum is focused on folk art of Greater Poland. There are costumes from various parts of the region, ceramics, fabrics, instruments, ceremonial items and embroidery. Also collected here are the works of folk artists, mainly sculptures and paintings. An exhibition of toys from around the world is dedicated to children.
