The Mazovian Museum in Płock is housed in a restored Art Nouveau townhouse. The choice of place was not accidental, as the institution is in possession of the largest collection of Art Nouveau in Poland. In addition, there are collections of art deco, contemporary art, the art of the far east as well as historical monuments.
The museum has several collections, the most important of which is the Art Nouveau collection. It presents paintings, collections of glass, tin, silverware, jewelry, ceramics and sculptures, costumes, accessories and furniture. In addition, visitors can admire the objects of neo-secular art.
The history department is connected with the history of Płock and the Mazovia Province of Płock starting from the nineteenth century. The archeology department also shows the objects related to the region. The numismatics department presents over 35,000 expats, mainly coins, paper money, medals, medallions and plaques.
