High School Marshal Stanisław Małachowski, often called Małachowianka, is one of the oldest schools in Poland. Saint taught here Andrzej Bobola, and among the juveniles were, among others Ignacy Mościcki, Tadeusz Mazowiecki and Tony Halik. Urgent medals are awarded to the best students today. The oldest preserved element of the building is the 13th-century wing with the 15th-century Gothic tower, the interior of which houses an astronomical dome. The museum tells the history of the school, in which over 300 exhibits were presented.

The school was founded in 1180 at the collegiate church of St. Michael. The founder was Prince Bolesław Kędzierzawy, and the first Benedictine lecturers. Among the existing educational institutions here were, among others Jesuit College, Sub-Faculty School of the National Education Commission and Polish Junior High School. From 1921, the school's patron is Marshal Małachowski. The high school belongs to the Creative Schools Society. In 1979, he was awarded the Commander's Cross with the Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

During the Swedish invasion, King Charles X Gustav stayed in the building.
