Diocesan Museum in Płock is famous for its exhibition of the treasury with valuable monuments such as reliquaries and goblets. It was established at the beginning of the 20th century. Originally, it was to house liturgical books and cult objects which were withdrawn from use.
The facility consists of several thousand exhibits which are no longer used for a religious cult but are of high historical and art values. The treasury presents, among others, the goblet of Prince Konrad I of Masovia, the bowl of the Czerwińsk's pyx from the second half of the 12th century, reliquaries with the remains of saints, monstrances, and the liturgical robes.Another exhibition presented in the museum is titled "Christ in art" and is divided into three parts: "Christ in painting and sculpture", "Christ in Holy Communion", and "Christ in lives of saints". There is also the mission exhibition "On the mission track in Peru". The last exhibition presents tools from the Stone Age decorations from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, clay dishes and decorations from the early Middle Ages.Less
