Chapel on the Water of St. Joseph the Worker

Local name: Kaplica na Wodzie św. Józefa Robotnika

The Chapel on the Water of St. Joseph the Worker is a small, wooden church situated by river Prądnik. Its facade draws inspiration from Swiss spa buildings while the interior represents Zakopane Style. The chapel consists of sculpted altars resembling roofs of rural huts, figures of saints, and the painting of Mother of God of Aid by one of the spa clients from the beginning of the 20th century.

According to tradition, the construction of the chapel on the platform by Prądnik was related to the law which prohibited building sacral objects in the area of "Ojców's land". The building dates back to 1901 and is composed of two parts - the wider middle with the presbytery and nave, and the narrower with the vestibule. The openwork tower is towering over the nave. The church's walls were built in characteristic for this region way - the upper part consists of planks arranged in a checkered pattern, the main is covered with tile-like planks, while the formwork is in the lower part.

The chapel is situated at the foot of rocks. Masses are said every Sunday.
