Krakow Gate

Local name: Brama Krakowska

The Cracow Gate is a symbol of the Ojców National Park. It is a natural rock gate, which leads from the Prądnik Valley to the karst gorge Ciasne Skałki in the slopes of Chełmowa Góra. The gate is made of two limestone rocks which are about 15 meters high. Tourists can walk through it along the blue trail to the Łokietek's Cave.

Krakowska Gate was created as a result of erosion of Jurassic limestone rocks. The hard rocks that make up its pylons survived the action of wind and water. The name is derived from the trade route running through Prądnik valley to Cracow. The upper part of the rocks is covered by thermophilic grasslands. At the foot of rocks, yews grow.

On the Gate there is a picture of Our Lady of Czestochowa attached. The Spring of Love also gushes nearby. Supposedly, drinking water from it tends to bind the couple with an eternal feeling.
