St. Dominic Chapel

St. Dominic Chapel is also known as Myszowski Chapel - from the surname of its founders. It is the least damaged by fire in the second half of the 19th century part of the church. Thanks to that, it preserved original shape. Its interior brings attention with the gallery of the Myszowski Family, placed at the base of the dome, which presents 16 bas-relief busts.

The chapel was built at the beginning of the 17th century and is a perfect image of an important change of the life of society what was a huge growth of the role of noble families that occurred in this period. The chapel draws attention from Sigismund Chapel on Wawel but it was to surpass it regarding the quality and decorations. The author of the design was probably Santi Gucci.
