St. Barbara's Church is located between St. Mary's Church and the Small Market Square. The Gothic single-nave church has a chapel called Ogrójec connected with the church porch in front of the facade. It consists of the altar considered a work by Veit Stoss. The side chapel-niche consists of Pietà from the end of the 14th century. The church also houses the painting of Our Lady of Jurowice from Polesie donated in 1886 which is considered miraculous.
St. Barbara's Church in Kraków was built in the 14th century. It operates as a cemetery church. In the 16th century, it was passed to Jesuits who are its keepers to this day. It is a single-nave brick building covered with shake roof with Baroque ridge turret. The interior was rebuilt into Baroque style. It is decorated with the 18th-century polychromes and altars.The Ogrójec Chapel was added in front of the entrance. It consists of the altar depicting Christ in the Olive Garden which was probably made by Veit Stoss. Another valuable piece of art is Pieta from Toruń's workshop. Jakub Wujek, who was the first to translate the Bible into the Polish language, is buried in the church's crypts.Less
