The Oliwa Park is the last city garden in Gdańsk. Existing for several hundred years, the garden serves today as a monumental park full of interesting places and perfectly managed vegetation. The Oliwa Park is one of the most beautiful and original open space reserves in Gdańsk.
The impressive Abbot's Palace, serving as Branch of Modern Art is located in the area of the park. Not only its interesting shape is to be admired while walking the paths but also the managed space inside - beautifully preserved ground floor with flowers and lawns. The rectangular pond can be found nearby. A longer walk leads to the picturesque Lipowa Alley and unique pond. The park's forest stand is very old - some of the trees are natural monuments such as western redcedar. The Oliwa Park also consists of Cave of Whispers - monumental acoustic shells - and the Adam Mickiewicz Monument. A complement of the park is the palm house gathering numerous exotic plants.Less
