Located in the area of Tricity Landscape Park, the Gdańsk Zoo is one of the biggest zoos in Poland. The zoo in Gdańsk is exceptional not only because of its size but also because of the exhibits which consist of the very rare and interesting specimens such as bongo, Andean condor or cheetah.
The Gdańsk Zoo is opened since the 1950s. Since its origin, it developed significantly and currently has almost 200 animal species from each continent. Apart from the many animal species living in the other zoos in the country, the Gdańsk Zoo is inhabited by less known species and also endangered species such as scimitar oryx, pygmy hippopotamus or Bali myna.The Gdańsk Zoo consists of about 1000 animals from the bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian and invertebrate species.Less
