18th-century Baroque Abbot's Granary operates today as a headquarters of the Ethnography Department of the National Museum in Gdańsk. It displays items related to the folk art of Pomerania and Kashubian culture.
The major part of the collection of the Ethnography Department of the National Museum comes from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The collection presents everyday life and culture of the then inhabitants of Pomerania, the history of then fishing, agriculture, and household. The museum consists of, among others, monumental folk furniture, items related to craft, and pieces of folk art. Apart from that, Abbot's Granary displays rich archives including old photographs and documentation.The collection mainly comes from Pomerelia: Kashubia, Vistula River Mouth, Kociewie, Powiśle, and the Tuchola Forest.
