Polanki is a nearly 200-hectare reserve, located in the immediate vicinity of Sanok. Established to protect the natural communities of Carpathian beech. Its natural value meant that it was included in the European Ecological Network Natura 2000. Learning the unique flora and fauna of the reserve facilitates the educational trail.
The path is 2 km long. There are 10 boards informing about the main assets and natural attractions of the Polanki nature reserve. There are about 350 species of plants, including many protected ones. The representatives of the animal world are worth mentioning: the salamander, the alpine newt, the rare smooth snake. If we are lucky, we can see the Sparrowhawk or Lesser Spotted Eagle. It is possible that the marten, lynx and even the wolf meet. The reserve's stand is mainly made of beech and fir. Monuments of these species can be found on the educational trail. Wandering along the marked route, we will not miss two interesting rock forms, named after their shapes "Tower" (10 m high) and "Wall" (16 m long, 3 m wide, up to 6 m high).
