Wielka Rawka - 1307 m

Local name: Wielka Rawka - 1307 m n.p.m.

Wielka Rawka is a very picturesque mountain with a good view on, among others, Połonina Wetlińska and Caryńska, Riaba Skała, Tarnica, Bukowe Berdo, Pikuj, and Wyhorlat. It belongs to Bieszczady National Park and is the tallest summit in Pasmo Graniczne. Except for Tarnica and Halicz, it's the only summit exceeding 1300 m. The characteristic concrete obelisk, former geodetic stand, is located here.

The shortest ways to Wielka Rawka are the green track in Wyżniańska Mountain Pass connected to the yellow track, and the blue track in Ustrzyki Górne.

During the Austrian occupation, the impressive massif of Wielka Rawka had played an important role in measuring the country and served as a key triangulation station. The local polonyna is overgrown with rare and valuable plant species. Avalanches occasionally occur on the steep north-east slope during winter. The long and challenging blue Karpaty Track leading through Pasmo Graniczne, or the easy green and picturesque track leading to Wetlina through Dział can be found on the top.
