Struga is a small town located on Lake Ohrid. Is one of the most important holiday resorts of Macedonia. There are developed beaches and many accommodation facilities and camping sites.
The city lies where Black Drin flows into the Ohrid Lake. Already in the Middle Ages the course of the river and the shores of the lake were regulated and a network of channels was created here, the remains of which have survived to this day. Drinu Coast is now a nice promenade with numerous eateries and shops.
Due to its location, Struga is an important center of leisure tourism. Ohrid Lake is for the inhabitants of the country a substitute for the sea, hence there are currently many holiday resorts and hotels on the shores. There are three beaches here with the possibility of renting beach and swimming equipment as well as bars.
Water sports such as canoeing, boating and cycling are available in the area. It is also close to the Galicica mountains, where there are numerous hiking trails.
