DORDRECHTNetherlands
The Court of the Netherlands
Local name: Het Hof van Nederland
The 13th-century Augustinian monastery is known as the site of the first free assembly of the Dutch states in 1572, which initiated the formation of the sovereignty of the Netherlands. After the order was removed, a hospital was established here, then a weapons foundry, and a school in the 19th century. It currently houses the Dortrecht cultural center and regional archives.
