Dordts Patrician House

Local name: Dordts Patriciërshuis

A museum that presents the lives of the richest part of Dordrecht at the end of the 18th century. The tenement has decorative elements from the period and furniture. They were supplemented with craft products and paintings to recreate the atmosphere of a bourgeois house.

The creation of the museum was the wish of the last owners of the Patrician House. After completing the necessary renovation, it opened in 2011. It is a place that allows you to go back in time. In addition to sightseeing, it also offers photo sessions and the organization of various festivities.

The tenement house from the 17th century was extended around 1730 by two neighboring buildings. This resulted in a large bourgeois house with representative rooms and utility rooms. A large part of its interior has survived to this day. Among the richly decorated rooms you can see a lounge in the style of Louis XVI and carved stone fireplaces. The walls are decorated with paintings by Cornelis Kuipers and contemporary landscape painters.
