It is an almost 100-meter office tower designed by Dutch architect Arthur Staal. At its top there is an observation deck with a panoramic view of the entire city and a modern, interactive exhibition on the history and culture of Amsterdam.
The property, besides the vantage point, offers many different attractions. You can find exclusive revolving restaurants, an art gallery or a hotel. The building also has a butcher shop and even a music school.
The tower was built in 1971, by order of Shell, as a new building for management and general services in his laboratory. In 2014, the building was rebuilt into a public facility, mainly due to the newly created revolving restaurant. The renovation officially ended in 2016 and is available to tourists.
