It is a company with the participation of the Cini Foundation and the Swiss nono-profit foundation Pentagram Stiftung. The main goal of Le stanze del Vetro is to focus on the history and use of glass in the art of the 20th and 21st century.
A series of special projects take place here to which contemporary artists are invited. Cultural initiatives do not only focus on contemporary artists working with glass, but also on leading producers and the most important glass collections in the world.
Accordingly, two exhibitions are taking place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The spring exhibition is dedicated to the use of glass in 20th and 21st century art. However, the theme of the exhibition in the fall are talented people who designed objects for the glass company Veni in the 20th century.
In addition, a Center for Studies was devoted to research in the field of artistic glass.
This cultural project and exhibition space was designed by New York architect Annabell Selldorf in collaboration with F. Cattaruzza and F. Millosevich. According to the English-language model, according to which cultural heritage is the property of the public, entry to educational classes, exhibitions and tours are free.
