The Church of the Holy Savior is located on the main shopping street of Venice. To commemorate the bombing of 1849, a cannonball was placed on the facade below the left column.
Noteworthy are the works of art in the church: the Annunciation and the Transfiguration by Titian, sculptures by St. Roch and St. Sebastian Alessandro Vittorii, as well as frescoes in a tomb in the floor in front of the main altar and paintings on the organ doors made by Francesco Vecellio.
The painting of Christ the Savior was given by the Roman emperor Charles V in 1546. It is located in the main altar and is surrounded by eight other paintings depicting scenes from the life of Jesus. These paintings were painted by Andréas Garcia Ibáñz. On the temple floor there is a polychrome marble mosaic. The church also has the tombs of several Venetian Doges and the Queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornaro.
