Portico of Octavia

The ancient portico dates back to the second century BC. To modern times, the gate leading to it has been preserved with an inscription placed here in 203 AD. In the times of the Roman Empire there was a library and a curia, but in the period from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century this place was used as a fish market .
