In the seventeenth-century church Santa Maria in Portico in Campitelli you can admire many religious souvenirs, including picture of saint Michał by Sebastiano Concy and glass casket of St. Jan Leonardi. The most valuable monument is a 25-centimeter icon depicting Maria.
The temple is one of the most important buildings of the Roman Baroque. Her project is the work of Carlo Rainaldis. It was erected on the order of Pope Alexander VII, who wanted to create a suitable place to store the miraculous image of Mary.
