Local name: Museo Nazionale degli Strumenti Musicali

The National Museum of Musical Instruments was founded in the second half of the year. Of the 20th century. His collection includes over 300 unique copies, the oldest of which come from ancient times. The exhibition of folk instruments and the Neapolitan song section is a treat for every italofil. The pride of the exhibition is a unique 18th century piano by Bartolomeo Cristofori.

The museum is divided into 16 themed rooms. Most of the exhibits come from the private collections of Italian artists: tenor Evan Gorgi and composer Benedetto Marcello. Ancient instruments are the result of excavations carried out in southern Ertruria.

The seat of the museum is the House of Sammogia, which is part of the former 'prince of Piedmont' barracks. The institution's guardian is the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
