Museum of Sacred Art

Local name: Museo d'Arte Sacra

Museo di Arte Sacra S. Giovanni Dè Fiorentini in Rome has collected a valuable collection of sacred art. You can see, for example, a marble statue of St. John the Baptist by Michelangelo Buonarroti and oil painting by Girolamo Pompeo Batoni showing Madonna and Child.

The museum collection consists of a total of 68 works. 48 objects have been made available to the public, while the remaining 20 remain in stock. An important element of the collection is the collection of reliquaries, busts and urns from the 16th to 19th century.

Noteworthy are: an antique bronze crucifix made by Giovan Lorenzo Bernini and Ercole Ferrat and a nineteenth-century icon with the "Crucifixion", a gift from Giulio Andreotti. The museum often hosts concerts and temporary exhibitions, as well as conferences and lectures.
