A small, medieval castle built for the King of Sicily William II as his holiday palace. Its architecture and decorations indicate a large Arabic influence and the likely participation of Arab artists in its creation. The palace has a quadrangle shape, from which it took its name. The walls are decorated with sculptural decorations, niches and blind windows in the Middle East.
