Noli is a small seaside resort and in the past an important center of maritime trade. In addition to the beaches, it offers visitors a nicely preserved historic center and a medieval castle from which you can admire beautiful views.

The city was founded in the early Middle Ages and from the 12th to the second half of the 18th century it was independent, being one of the so-called maritime republics. It is from these times that most of the local monuments come from.

Due to the danger of attacks, the city was well fortified. The city walls with several defensive towers and a medieval castle standing on a hill above the buildings have survived to this day. It is an attractive destination for walks with a view of the coast from the top.

Within the old town there is an atmosphere as if it was transferred from the old times. Narrow streets, tenement houses, churches and squares squeezed in between them create a unique place. The more so because this is where the most restaurants, cafes and bars are concentrated, and the streets are filled with the smell of food.

Nola's attractions include the local sandy beaches. The city is an intimate resort, focused on a quiet rest. The location at the foot of the mountains falling into the sea also allows for active tourism, including mountain hiking.
