The steel tower Torre Branca with a height of 108.60 meters, presents a very good view of the Milan panorama. The viewing platform, 97 meters high, can be reached by elevator. Particularly noteworthy are the Castello with Torre del Filarete and the golden Madonnina at the top of the Duomo, as well as the Simplon park and Arena Civica. The Torre Branca tower is located in Parco Sempione next to the Triennale Design Museum.
The tower was built at a record pace in just two and a half months in 1933, according to the design of architect Gio Ponti. It was a modern work of art combining contemporary architecture and new technologies with the timelessness of Italian monuments.
In 1972 the tower was closed for a long time and only in 2002 it was reopened after complete reconstruction under the leadership of Branca - the producer of the famous "bitter" Fernet Branc.
