Limone sul Garda is a tourist destination situated on Lake Garda, at the foot of steep, wooded, mountain slopes. It is known for its nice architecture and centuries-old lemon growing tradition.
For centuries, Limone sul Garda was primarily a fishing village, and since Venice took over this area, lemon cultivation has developed. Only a small part of the old lemon groves have survived to this day. You can also visit a small museum presenting the history of lemon cultivation and show cultivation. A route marked with fruit images leads to it.
The touristic development of Limone sul Garda began after World War I, when a road was brought to the towns. Soon it became one of the most popular vacation spots on the Garda. there is a gravel-covered, wide city beach, a marina and the rental of water equipment.
Another attraction of Limone sul Garda is its pretty, historic buildings with terraced houses on a slope that slopes towards the lake, several churches and an olive factory that can be visited.
