Avigliana is a picturesque town dominated by the ruins of a medieval castle. In its vicinity, there are alpine lakes ideal for relaxation.

The town has medieval roots, and due to its location at the crossroads of routes leading to Italy, France and Switzerland, a castle was built here. Only its ruins have survived to this day, because in the 17th century it was destroyed by the French.

The buildings of the city include the historic center with two valuable churches, the Romanesque St. Peter and the Renaissance St. John, decorated with paintings by Defendente Ferrari. The houses are situated on the hillside, and the streets lead to the city walls and the road leading to the castle.

The surroundings of Avigliana are extremely picturesque. There are two lakes right next to each other that are protected by the Avigliana Lakes Nature Park. There are nature and walking paths on their shores. There is also an eco-museum. You can go boats and canoes on the lakes.
