Acqui Terme is the most important thermal spa in Piedmont. Sulfur mineral waters, known since the Roman times, are used here today in several spa centers, and the city can also boast beautiful, historic buildings.

The sulfur hot springs in Acqui Terme were already known to the Romans. In ancient times, the town was connected by a road with Turin. Traces of villas built by wealthy Roman citizens have been discovered in the vicinity, the most important monument from this period are the remains of an aqueduct.

The thermal baths are the biggest attraction of Acqui Terme. They are located next to hotels and guesthouses and also provide a wide range of spa and wellness treatments. In the historic part of the city, you can see the Bollente Fountain, from which hot sulfuric water flows.

The city center has nice, historic buildings with restored tenement houses and city palaces. There are plenty of restaurants and bars as well as small handicraft shops. On the border of the old town and new buildings is the Italian Square with a fountain in the shape of water lilies and a square with a few olive trees.
