Ámos Imre - Anna Margit Museum
Local name: Ámos Imre - Anna Margit Múzeum
The Imre Ámos and Margit Anna Museum has one permanent exhibition that presents the life and work of these two artists to visitors. Initially, the exhibition covered only the works of Imre Ámos, both his paintings and sketches. After the death of Margit Anna, the exhibition was also expanded to include her work.
Imre Ámos and Margit Anna were married. From the 1930s they were associated with Szentendre, where they spent every summer and created. They also traveled to Paris, where they came across various painting trends. Many of their works reflect the influences of expressionists, symbolists and surrealists.
This museum is a branch of the Ferenczy Museum. It has its headquarters in a bourgeois building from the 18th century, which is known as the Paulovics House. Originally he represented the Baroque style, but now, as a result of several renovations, his style is definitely more eclectic. Margit Anna rests in the garden by the museum.
