Tímárház, literally the Tanner's House, is a historic building in the past belonging to a tanning family. Currently, it is still a workshop for craftsmen practicing traditional professions, as well as a community center, where various workshops and educational classes for youth and adults take place.
There is also an exhibition presenting the history of crafts in Tímárház. In addition, temporary exhibitions are organized here, primarily presenting the work of artisans, i.e. leather and felt products, embroidery, ceramics, clothes and other textiles and wooden objects.
The building was built in the first years of the 20th century and until the World War II it operated as a tanning workshop. After the war, the building was bought by the city and an exhibition on the history of tanning was created here. Soon afterwards, workshops and various activities began to showcase traditional crafts of the region.
